Behavioral Video Interview Questions and Responses for Masters in American Universities

Below is a list of Behavioral Questions you can prepare for your Video Interviews.

1. What is your life goal? / Where do you see yourself in 10 years? / What do you hope to do with your education? / What is your dream job? / What are your future plans? / What do you want to become?

-> Mention your career goals and how this program will help you achieve them.


2. Why do you want to join this program? / What do you hope to gain from this program? / How will this program impact your life goals?

-> Mention the courses you like, faculty you want to work with and how the program aligns with your career goals.


3. Why Computer Science/ Finance/ (Your subject) ?

-> Mention how passionate you are about the subject.


4. Why this university?

-> Mention how you are impressed by the university's facilities, faculty, support, program, communities and vibe in general.


5. Why clubs are you interested in? / How do you see yourself contributing to the community?

-> Mention some student organizations and why are you drawn to them.


6. Tell a moment where you took charge of the meeting and how did it impact you?

-> The answer can have any meeting be it professional or in some competition.


7. How would your peers describe you?

-> Mention some leadership or team work instance and similar qualities.


8. Tell us about yourself and your interests outside education. / What do you do in your free time? 

-> Say something like you love to read, or are into fitness as it keeps the brain healthy.


9. Do you have haters?

-> This one is upto you.


10. How did you change to a personal growth mindset?

-> Mention some impactful incident or some book you read which changed your mindset.


11. Which issues or problems interest you and how will you solve them?

-> Mention some specific research or some problem in your country that you think your education can solve.


12. How do you find motivation?

-> Say that the people in your surroundings inspire you, your parents are hardworking and you have learnt the same qualities growing up so you never had to "find" motivation, you had a natural inclination towards it.


13. Which studies are you interested in?

-> Mention some research work of the professors at the university.


14. Mention some achievements and failures. / strengths and weaknesses.


15. What are your views on American Education System? / What about USA draws you?

-> This one is generic that it is the heart of innovation and the exposure is immense etc.


16. Describe your relationship with your parents and siblings.

-> Say that it is respectful and supporting.


17. What is your favorite food and why?


18. Tell us about a notable project.


19. What do you bring to the university?

-> Mention your qualities, academic excellence and your community work.


20. What was an obstacle you faced and how did you overcome it?

-> Mention some incident which shows you are a good problem solver.


21. Give an example of the time you had to convince other people of your point of view.

-> Mention an incident and then say how you reasoned logically, showed them supporting evidence for your point of view and finally convinced them to follow your advise.


22. What would you do if you had a lot of money?


23. What did you recently read?

-> Mention a non-fiction book.


24. Tell an incidence in which you displayed leadership/ team-work/ curiosity.


25. What is an interesting thing about you that we wouldn't learn from your resume alone?


26. Which subjects did you find difficult in your undergrad / high school? Did you overcome that difficulty?


27. What/ How do you plan to study in the university?

-> Share a study plan, i.e. how you will plan your day out and what all will be the priority everyday.


28. Tell a situation where you were confronted by a colleague or fellow student and how did you tackle it?


29. How important is prestige or money to you?


30. What were some defining moments in your life?
