First Day!

Luckily, I came across this little something I wrote on returning from my first day at Indira Gandhi Delhi Technical University for Women - one of the best universities in the world indeed! I am shocked at how a journey that started on such an exasperated note could turn out to be the best experience of my life. Anyway here it goes, my thoughts while summing up the first day of an Engineer in making! So, the realization that my life was not gonna be what I wanted it to be and how I just saw rows and rows of the same gender and a shabby campus, literally made me weep. Still, there I was with no clue of what I was supposed to do.  Successfully butchering the last ounce of excitement left in me.  Anyhow, I just took a deep breath in and tried to head towards my first class. Only if I knew where it was.  We had to wait for nearly three hours in the auditorium which still had the Orientation banner on.  Stupid government college.  Goodnight Diary.  Computer Scie...

To commence 2022, I want to mention the top 10 books that have shaped my life to date. This is in hope that you might resonate with me or might pick one up to positively impact yours.  I have made a resolution to read 12 books this year so hopefully this post is the sowing ground for "Ash's Reading Recommendations from 20xx" I am an avid reader and I am sure as I grow, I will encounter many more books that will transform me as a person but this list is as updated as it can be for now. So, here it goes..  1. Harry Potter Series by  J. K. Rowling ! Well, these were one of the first few books I read and are still my absolute favourite. How I Scored 110+ in TOEFL

Resources Used: ETS Official Guide Free resources on the ETS Account  Youtube Preparation: I bought and downloaded the 👉 e-book of the Official Guide   as it comes with the audio files (for Listening and Speaking) and a test stimulator for the 3 practice tests at the end of the book.  You can choose to buy the Paperback as well. It is cheaper. The only drawback here is that you'll either need to listen to the audios and attempt the tests using the DVD they provide with the book or you'll have to transfer everything from the DVD into your device.  You can sign up for this 👉 edx course by ETSx . Doing this course saves you from reading all the introductions and instructions before each section in the Official Guide and lets you directly jump to the practice sets. I used this course for just the Reading and Listening sections. For the Writing and Speaking sections, I followed 👉 Noteful's videos . These are useful only when you make proper notes and lea...
